Vitamin D is a unique vitamin that utmost people do n’t get enough

Vitamin D is a unique vitamin that most people do not consume enough of. In fact, it is estimated that more than 40% of American adults are vitamin D deficient.

☀️ This vitamin is produced from cholesterol in the skin when exposed to the sun. That’s why getting enough sun is very important for maintaining optimal levels of vitamin D. Still, too much sun carries its own health risks.

☀️ People with darker skin generally have more melanin than people with lighter skin. Melanin helps protect the skin against damage caused by excessive sun. It acts as a natural sunscreen and absorbs the sun’s UV rays to defend against sunburn. Still, that creates a big dilemma because people with darker beards need to spend more time in the sun than people with lighter beards to produce the same amount of vitamin D.

☀️ People who live in areas further away from the area produce less vitamin D in their skin. In these areas, the Earth’s ozone sub caste absorbs more of the sun’s rays, especially UVB rays. Therefore, people who live further away from the area generally need to spend more time in the sun to produce enough.
